Ballerina

A ballerina alphabet using the fringe technique for a raised tutu on every letter.
Ballerina alphabet embroidery designs
Each ballerina's tutu is fringed so it fluffs up off the fabric. A favourite for little dancers, ballet bags and bedroom decor.
How fringe embroidery works
- The machine stitches loops of thread in the fringe areas, with a holding line along one edge
- After stitching, carefully cut the bobbin threads on the back of the fringe areas
- Pull the loops through to the front and fluff them up with your fingers or a soft brush
- Trim to the length you like for a mane, beard, skirt or petals that stand up off the fabric
Tips for stitching alphabet letters
- Line up your letters in your machine software or with a printed template before you hoop
- Stitch a test letter on scrap fabric with the same stabiliser first
- On towels and textured fabrics, add a water soluble topper so the stitches sit on top
