Tips for free standing lace
Hoop two layers of a good quality water soluble stabiliser, or one layer of a heavy fibrous one
Use the same thread in the bobbin as on top, as both sides will show
Rinse in warm water, then lay flat or shape over a form to dry
Slow your machine down a little for the best results

Line up your letters in your machine software or with a printed template before you hoop
Stitch a test letter on scrap fabric with the same stabiliser first
On towels and textured fabrics, add a water soluble topper so the stitches sit on top
