Machine Embroidery Alphabets and Fonts

Alphabets make up the largest part of this site. They fall into two broad groups. Plain fonts are straightforward lettering for monogramming and names, useful when the wording is the point and you do not want the letter competing with the item. Themed alphabets build a character or object into every letter, so an A might be an animal, a piece of Christmas decoration or a Halloween monster.

Themed sets work best used as a single feature letter rather than spelling out a whole word. A full name in a themed alphabet gets busy very quickly and the stitch count climbs fast. Plain fonts are the better choice for anything longer than an initial.

Sizing and Hooping

Each set lists the hoop size it was digitised for. Letters can be resized within reason, but scaling up more than about twenty percent without adjusting density will leave gaps in the fill, and scaling down too far will make small fills solid and stiff. Resize in software that lets you recalculate stitch density rather than simply stretching the file.

A Free Letter Every Day

One letter from a current alphabet is released free every day at 10am Brisbane time. Following the daily release over a few weeks builds a complete set at no cost. Once the day is up that letter returns to full price.

All alphabets download instantly as a zip containing PES, PEC, JEF, DST, HUS, VP3, XXX, PCS, EXP and CSD, with stitch counts and colour sequences listed on each letter page.
