Silly Gnomes X

Silly Gnomes X is a machine embroidery design showing a large letter X with a cheerful Christmas gnome standing in front of it. The gnome has a tall pointed red hat, a fluffy white beard, a round blue body, red mittens raised high and little brown shoes. Three round baubles with fine gold thread patterns float above him, as if he is juggling them. The X is filled with a white snowflake pattern. It is shown in green, red, blue, white and gold, but this is only a suggestion. Any shades of the same colour family work well.

The initial makes this a lovely choice for personalised Christmas gifts. Try it on a tea towel, a tote bag, a cushion cover, a stocking, baby clothes or a quilt block for a holiday sampler. It sits well on cotton, linen, canvas and fleece. Light or mid-tone fabrics let the colours stand out best.

The design measures 85 mm wide by 93 mm high (3.3 x 3.7 inches), so it fits a 4 x 4 inch hoop. With 14,818 stitches and only 7 colour changes, it stitches out quickly with few thread stops. Use a tearaway stabiliser on stable woven fabrics and a cutaway stabiliser on knits.
