Silly Gnomes 5

Silly Gnomes 5 is a machine embroidery design of a cheerful Christmas gnome standing beside a big number 5. The gnome has a tall pointed red hat with white snowflakes, a fluffy white beard, a round tan nose, a green sweater, tan mittens and cream boots. A string of lights with round bulbs winds around him, and the 5 is filled with tiny snowflakes. It is shown in red, green, white, tan, yellow and blue, but that is only a suggestion. Any shades of the same colour family work well.

The number makes it a nice fit for birthday gifts, countdown projects and Christmas keepsakes. Try it on tea towels, tote bags, cushion covers, baby clothes, stockings or quilt blocks. It sits well on cotton, linen, canvas and felt.

The design measures 82 mm wide by 80 mm high (3.2 x 3.2 inches), so use a hoop with a sewing field larger than that. It has 14,442 stitches and 10 colour changes, so it stitches out fairly quickly. Use tearaway stabiliser on stable woven fabric and cutaway on knits.
