Silly Gnome 3 is a cheerful embroidery design of a gnome juggling three Christmas baubles. He wears a tall, curved hat with a knitted texture, and has a round nose, a long wavy white beard, raised mittens and little feet. The baubles have fine gold line patterns and gold caps. There is no lettering and no applique. It is shown with a red hat and mittens, a blue body and red, green and blue baubles, but that is only a suggestion. Any shades of the same colour family work well.
This gnome suits festive projects such as Christmas tea towels, tote bags, cushions, baby clothes and quilt blocks. It sits well on cotton, linen and sweatshirt fabric, where the textured hat and beard stand out nicely. Pale or neutral fabrics show the colours best.
The design measures 61 mm wide by 85 mm high (2.4 x 3.4 inches), so it fits a small 10 x 10 cm hoop. With 9,900 stitches and 5 colour changes, it stitches quickly. Use tearaway stabiliser on stable woven fabric and cutaway on knits.
