Silly Gnome 1

Silly Gnome 1 is a machine embroidery design of a cheerful Christmas gnome tangled up in a string of party lights. He wears a tall pointed red hat with white snowflakes, a round tan nose, a long white beard, a green jumper, brown mittens and cream trousers. The bulbs are red, green, blue and yellow, joined by a thin tan wire. It is stitched in textured filled areas. These colours are only a suggestion, and any shades of the same family work just as well.

This little gnome suits Christmas tea towels, tote bags, cushion covers, stockings, baby bodysuits and festive quilt blocks. It sits well on cotton, linen and canvas, where the fills stay smooth, and it also looks good on fleece or sweatshirt knits with the right backing.

The design measures 54 mm wide by 76 mm high (2.1 x 3.0 inches), so it fits a small hoop easily. It has 9,493 stitches and 8 colour changes, so it stitches out fairly quickly. Use tearaway stabiliser on stable woven fabric and cutaway on knits.
