Merry Z is a machine embroidery design of the capital letter Z, filled with a pattern of fine snowflakes. The letter has a slightly curved, calligraphic shape and a neat outline. The snowflakes and thin diagonal lines are shown in blue on a white textured fill. These colours are only a suggestion, and any shades of the same family work, such as navy, sky blue or silver grey.
It makes a lovely winter monogram initial for tea towels, tote bags, cushions, Christmas stockings, baby clothes or quilt blocks. It sits well on cotton, linen or canvas, where the snowflake texture shows clearly.
The design measures 53 mm wide by 75 mm high (2.1 x 3.0 inches), so it fits in a small hoop. With 5,142 stitches and only 1 colour change, it stitches quickly. Use tearaway stabiliser on stable woven fabric and cutaway stabiliser on knits.
