Merry V

Merry V is a machine embroidery design of the capital letter V, filled with textured blue stitching and scattered with white snowflakes of different sizes. The fill is split into soft bands, a bit like patchwork or ribbon, and a fine white outline frames the letter. It is shown in blue and white, but that is only a suggestion. Any shades of the same colour family work well, so choose what suits your project.

This winter letter is a good choice for Christmas tea towels, tote bags, cushions, stockings and gift bags. It also makes a sweet initial for baby clothes, or a lettered block in a quilt, for example for a name starting with V. It sits well on cotton, linen, canvas and fleece, where the snowflakes stand out against a plain background.

The design measures 54 mm wide by 73 mm high (2.1 x 2.9 inches), so it fits easily in a small 4 x 4 inch hoop. It has 4,409 stitches and only 1 colour change, so it stitches quickly. Use tearaway stabiliser on stable woven fabrics and cutaway stabiliser on knits.
