Merry R

Merry R is a machine embroidery design of a capital letter R with a soft, slightly hand-drawn shape. The letter is filled with a light textured stitch and scattered with fine snowflakes sewn in outline. A blue border runs around the whole letter. It is shown here in white and blue as a suggestion only, and any shades of the same family work just as well, such as icy light blues, navy or soft greys.

This winter letter suits monogram gifts and seasonal projects. Try it on Christmas tea towels, tote bags, cushion covers, stockings, baby clothes or a quilt block in a name or initial sampler. It sits nicely on cotton, linen, flannel and fleece, where the snowflake lines stay clear against the fill.

The design measures 50 mm wide by 78 mm high (2.0 x 3.1 inches), so it fits easily in a small hoop. It has 5,963 stitches and only 1 colour change, so it stitches up quickly. Use tearaway stabiliser on stable woven fabrics and cutaway stabiliser on knits and stretchy fabrics.
