Merry LC i

Merry LC i is the lowercase letter i from a Christmas alphabet, stitched as a filled letter with a tall, gently tapering stem and a rounded dot. Fine white snowflakes of different sizes cover the green fill, and a light outline runs around the edge. It is shown in green and white as a suggestion only. Any shades of the same colour family work well, so use whatever suits your thread stash.

This letter is made for festive personalising. Use it for names and greetings on tea towels, tote bags, cushion covers, Christmas stockings, table runners and baby clothes. It also works as a letter in a winter quilt block. It sits well on cotton, linen, felt and fleece, and the snowflake texture shows nicely on a plain, solid background.

The design measures 14mm wide x 71mm high (0.5 x 2.8 inches), so it is narrow and tall. Check that your hoop has enough height. It has 2,140 stitches and 1 colour change, so it stitches up quickly. On stable woven fabric such as cotton or linen, use tearaway stabiliser. On knits such as jersey or sweatshirt fabric, use cutaway stabiliser.
