Merry A

Merry A is a machine embroidery letter A decorated with blue snowflakes. The letter has a soft, slightly leaning hand-drawn shape and a light textured fill. Snowflakes of different sizes are scattered across it, and a thin blue outline frames the whole letter. It is shown here in white and blue for a frosty winter look. These colours are only a suggestion, and any shades of the same family will work, such as navy, sky blue or pale grey.

This initial is a nice choice for Christmas and winter projects. Try it on tea towels, tote bags, cushion covers, baby clothes or a quilt block in an alphabet set. It also works well for a name on a stocking or a gift bag. It sits best on cotton, linen or similar medium-weight woven fabric, and it also looks good on a sweatshirt or a fleece blanket.

The design measures 56 mm wide by 75 mm high (2.2 x 2.9 inches) and fits easily in a small hoop. It has 4,840 stitches and only one colour change, so it stitches up quickly. Use tearaway stabiliser on stable woven fabrics and cutaway stabiliser on knits.
