Merry 6

Merry 6 is a machine embroidery design of the number 6 in a bold, rounded serif style. The digit is filled with soft white stitching and covered in blue snowflakes of different sizes, each one drawn in fine lines, with a blue outline around the edge. It gives a cosy winter look that also works for a sixth birthday. The colours shown are blue and white, but this is only a suggestion. Any shades of the same family work just as well.

Try it on tea towels, tote bags, cushion covers or a birthday T-shirt for a sixth birthday. It also suits baby and children's clothes, advent calendar pockets and quilt blocks in a winter or Christmas collection. It sits nicely on cotton, linen and sweatshirt fleece. On darker fabric the pale fill will stand out clearly.

The design measures 43mm wide x 65mm high (1.7 x 2.5 inches), so it fits easily in a small hoop. With 6,158 stitches and 1 colour change, it stitches up quickly. Use tearaway stabiliser on stable woven fabrics and cutaway stabiliser on knits.
