Silly Gnomes A

Silly Gnomes A is a Christmas machine embroidery design with a capital letter A and a cheerful gnome. The letter is filled with white and covered in small blue snowflakes, with a blue outline. The gnome stands beside it with a tall green hat marked with a white snowflake, a big white beard, a red coat, golden mittens and boots, and a small green lantern with a golden flame. Three round baubles with fine gold line patterns hang around him. The colours shown are red, green, blue, white and gold, as a suggestion only. Any shades of the same family work well.

It makes a lovely personalised Christmas gift, with the letter as an initial. Try it on tea towels, tote bags, cushion covers, stockings, baby clothes or quilt blocks. It sits well on cotton, linen, canvas or fleece, and on light or dark fabric.

The design measures 95 mm wide by 92 mm high (3.7 x 3.6 inches), so you need a hoop of at least 100 mm. With 15,169 stitches and only 9 colour changes, it stitches fairly quickly. Use tearaway stabiliser on stable woven fabrics and cutaway on knits.
