Silly Gnome 2

Silly Gnome 2 is a cheerful Christmas gnome in a tall pointed hat with a small snowflake on the front. He has a long, wavy white beard, a round peach nose, a red coat, mittens and boots, and he holds a little lantern with a glowing flame. Three round baubles with fine line patterns float around him: one above his hat, one at his side and one by his feet. The textured fill and satin stitches give it a soft, hand-made look. It is shown in green, red, white, gold, peach and blue, but that is only a suggestion. Any shades of the same family work, so a navy hat or silver baubles would be just as nice.

This gnome suits all kinds of festive projects. Try it on tea towels, tote bags, cushion covers, Christmas stockings, table runners or a quilt block for a holiday quilt. It also looks sweet on baby clothes such as bodysuits and bibs. It sits well on cotton, linen, flour sack cloth and canvas, and the light fill keeps it soft on a tea towel.

The design measures 64 mm wide by 90 mm high (2.5 x 3.5 inches), so it fits a 4x4 inch hoop. With 10,181 stitches and 7 colour changes it stitches out fairly quickly.
