Steampunk Machine Embroidery Designs
Steampunk designs work from gears, cogs, keys and Victorian industrial imagery. They suit bags, waistcoats, costume work, journal covers and anything where a metallic or antique palette is wanted.
The style relies on layered detail, so these designs generally carry higher stitch counts than their size suggests. They sit best on firm fabrics such as canvas, denim and heavier cottons rather than anything lightweight.
Thread Choice
Bronze, copper and antique gold shades do most of the work in this style. Metallic threads look right but need a larger needle, a slower speed and a longer thread path, so a matte bronze polyester is often the more practical choice for a large design.
