The cute dragon and unicorn designs are aimed at children's items and stitch quickly with fewer colour changes. The more detailed treatments carry heavier stitch counts and suit cushion covers, bags and wall hangings rather than clothing.

Fringed Designs

Some designs in this category use the fringe technique, where the thread is clipped after stitching to create a raised furry texture for a mane or tail. Loosen the top tension slightly for the fringe section and use a longer stitch length. Brush the fringe out after cutting to open it up.
