The letter A stands upright with a wavy fill through the strokes, and the lean rooster leaning against it has a tall comb, an open beak and a long arching tail. He is caught mid squawk, which sets the tone for the whole alphabet.
This one opens a name or a monogram nicely, and it suits kitchen linen, an apron pocket, a market tote or the front of a chef style shirt. Stitch it in whatever threads suit the piece, the shape carries the design on its own.
The design is 85.80mm wide by 82.90mm high, so it is close to square and fills a 4 inch hoop. Eight colour stops across 11,138 stitches. A single tearaway on a stable woven is enough, cutaway if you are putting it on a knit.
